About The Club

At Reading Univeristy Cue Sports our aim is to bring people together who enjoy cue sports and would like to improve their game though competition and practice. We run events every wednesday afternoon during term time at Riley's Ltd, just outside Reading town centre. We offer cheap pool and snooker for students of all abilities in a friendly and social atmosphere. For those who are interested in playing competitive cue sports we enter teams into national competitions.

The club was founded in 2006 and was immediately popular, attracting a large membership. Soon after forming, the club sent two teams to the University Pool Council 9-Ball Championships where the team reached the last 16 of the tournament. The club also entered a team into the UPC 8-Ball championships and again reached the last 16.

The team travelled to Birmingham, Bristol and Winchester to play friendly matches and establish links with other teams. They proved to be fun times for building team morale and improving playing ability.

In its second year the club sent 3 teams to the UPC 9-Ball championship. The first team reached the quarter finals and several individual players reached the last 32 from a field of 128. Two teams are being sent to the 8-Ball competition in February and we are currently seeking a snooker team to send to the championships too.
